Mini First Aid Trainer for both the Bradford, West Leeds & Huddersfield region and the York region. Mum to Maisy and Freya! After being along side a friend who experienced her child having a seizure Michele realised just how important it was to learn the basic first aid skills.
Carly joins the team with over 20 years teaching experience within Further Education. Carly is currently part of the care team at a Children’s hospice whilst also delivering mini first aid classes. Carly believes it is a privilege and an honour to be able to share her first aid skills and knowledge with each attendee hoping to provide reassurance, confidence and the ability to deal with a situation should it ever arise.
As a qualified teacher and mother of three young children, I am thrilled to be delivering first aid training to school children, as part of the National Curriculum. These skills are simply vital and as soon as I met Michele and the Mini First Aid family I knew I had to be a part of such a progressive and passionate team!
Helen has worked as a Registered adult and Sick Children's nurse, and for over 20 years she was a community nurse for children with special needs and disabilities. Having 2 sons of her own, one of whom has a life threatening illness she is keen to share her knowledge of first aid with other parents and carers.
Jo has been a nurse for 20 years, 10 years on intensive care in Leeds before becoming a health visitor in Bradford after the birth of her first son. Preparing families for the birth of their children and supporting them has been the most important thing to her for many years. Jo wants to help all those participating in a mini first aid class to leave feeling prepared in any situation and to have the confidence to help both their own children and those around them if the need arises.
Nicky is a trainer with over 20 years teaching experience and has been an active First Aider since 1996. Nicky is a mum to one grown up son. She is now a proud Grandma to Tech Savy, almost teenage Ashley and too energetic, need eyes in the back of your head, toddler Caleb. Having been a manager of a Children’s Centre, Nicky believes every parent/grandparent and carer should equip themselves with First Aid Skills as experience has taught her that you never know what is around the corner.
Mini First Aid really are the best for all your first aid needs! I found the company online through researching baby first aid products and the reviews were so great that I had to buy and try, and I was so impressed! The first aid kits really are so extensive! I want to say a huge thank you to Angie from Mini First Aid for coming to our home to teach my family and I baby first aid! I had some basic knowledge but it didn’t compare to the hands on approach in our class where we got to practice techniques. Angie was incredible and so patient with us, and the lesson was invaluable to us as new parents!
Fantastic course, would thoroughly recommend. We booked a Mini First Aid course with Michele quite last minute as we are expecting our first baby and realised this is something we should have thought about sooner! We're so glad we did - Michele delivered a fantastic session and made the whole process very easy, from booking (and the option to postpone if baby came before the course date!) to how welcome and comfortable she made everyone feel on the day. Our session had a nice mix of my husband and myself (at 38 weeks pregnant!), two couples with babies under one year and also two sets of grandparents. Nothing was too much trouble and the two hours flew by. Would thoroughly recommend both the content and Michele as a trainer. Thank you for giving us the confidence boost we needed! Also really useful to be able to buy a good quality first aid kit bundle at the end of the session, and to have the mini course booklet to keep. Date of experience: 18 March 2023
Mini First Aid is a great fit for our brand and we have been delighted to partner with them on a number of initiatives. We offer our customers a Mini First Aid class when they sign up for a Junior ISA*. Empowering families through free first aid courses alongside our accessible Junior ISA product, we prioritise their well-being and financial security. A successful competition in the Spring gave us the opportunity to market our products to Mini First Aid's 150,000 followers, and we saw a really positive impact on engagement with both existing and new customers. *T&C’s apply.
Holly, our trainer was an excellent facilitator. The session was informative and enjoyable, and the class size made it feel accessible and easy for everyone to get stuck in. Holly's first-hand experience in the field, coupled with being a parent made the information really palatable and relatable. She made sure to have inclusive material which was perfect for the multicultural group we were in. I'd highly recommend the class if you want to arm yourself with the confidence to respond to a child in an emergency situation.
Bionical have been working with Mini First Aid since 2022, and we couldn't be happier with the relationship. Following expansion and a global pandemic, we were looking for a way to maintain the highest standards of compliance in training for our nursing staff across the UK, whilst maximising efficiency of delivery. It has been lovely working with Mini First Aid who have supported Bionical to maintain compliance and service excellence, whilst being a completely stress-free process. Thank you to both the Head Office administrative team, as well as all your franchisees and trainers.
"We are so glad we have done a Mini First Aid class. We enjoyed the class, found it really useful and feel so much more prepared in the build up to having our baby.”
"I learned so much from the Mini First Aid adult awareness class. I feel confident about what to do in a range of first aid situations or emergencies. For the first time, I’ve seen images of what burns look like on black and brown as well as white skin. I know what signs to look for if a child is choking, as these can look different, depending on your skin colour. Thanks Mini First Aid for making your classes relevant to everyone".
The Mini First Aid Class (filmed for ITVBe) was a fantastic class, both Arg and I found it a really good and informative session
The [Mini First Aid] course was wonderful – truly something that all parents should do.
We recently did an online session with Michele as we were unable to meet in person. It was a relaxed session and was very informative. There was a lot of information in a short space of time, but Michelle managed it really well via zoom and was super knowledgeable about any questions we had. We feel much more confident having done the course and would definitely recommend it to others.
One afternoon, we were enjoying a day out in the sunshine and had stopped to feed our daughter of 7 months, she’s just started solid food and we’d been giving her sliced banana to chew on. On this particular day, she inhaled a small piece and began to choke. I quickly remembered Martin’s words, put her in the proper hold, bottom in the air and one forceful strike between her shoulder blades dislodged the banana and although she was shocked, she was able to breathe again and I can’t tell you how relieved we felt! It may have only been 10 seconds in which she couldn’t breathe but it was terrifying. Had I not had the training from Martin and Mini First Aid, I cannot even begin to imagine how differently the situation could have turned out. In fact, I’d go as far to say that the training I received enabled me to save our daughter’s life.
Sky are always looking for ways to better support their staff and Parents@Sky Network offers support and benefits to staff who are parents. I came across Mini First Aid through a Facebook promotion and there was a huge demand for the Infant and Child First Aid class which was shared on our internal and external social channels. The communication and organisation of the event was excellent - Sarah-Lou was professional, engaging and even injected some parent style humour! The class was interactive and educational - everyone took something away from it including much more confidence in dealing with any emergencies which could arise with their little ones. The feedback received on the back of it was amazing! It was a great success and hopefully something we can do again, and potentially roll out to other sites in the UK. Thank you Mini First Aid, you were a pleasure to deal with!
We had a great day finishing off the practical element of our Paediatric First Aid training. I was very nervous about being with strangers outside of my work/family bubble but Michele went above and beyond to make sure we all felt safe. I have been refreshing my training every 3 years since 2002 and this was by far the most informative and well presented course. Even down to being able to practice using the choking vests was really helpful. Great day and will be booking in the rest of our team later this year! Frobelian Nursery - Horsforth
This weekend myself and five mummy friends had a private Mini First Aid session from the comfort of my own home. Now I’ve done it I can’t believe I hadn’t done it sooner, what a no-brainer!! It’s a great feeling knowing that I’d know what to do should a situation arise. All in all, I can’t recommend it enough so get your session booked in now!”
We have been working with Mini First Aid since 2017 on various platforms. Most recently, we ran a highly successful campaign with a 3 pronged approach - the first was to educate more parents about sensitive skin via a Mini First Aid blog, newsletter feature and podcast, the second was to team up on a brand awareness competition via social media, and the third was to reach a wider audience by giving out free Childs Farm samples to hundreds of parents whilst they were learning life-saving first aid. It was a great way to reach our target audience with a multichannel approach.
We have seen hundreds of clients go through the Infection Control Course and heard nothing but positive feedback. They were able to do everything in their own time and now have the ability to promote their certificate/badge to all current and future customers which has helped them secure both venues and new clients. I would highly recommend anyone that is running a children's activities business to complete this course.
St Joseph’s School, Wetherby (Early Years class) Our Nursery class love to get involved in whole-school curriculum enrichment activities but First Aid for 3-4 year olds? Even for our well-seasoned teachers, this sounded like a tall order. How wrong we were! Our sessions with Claire were absolutely brilliant. Skillful teaching, great resources, clear messages and important safety information; empowering our children to feel like mini first aiders. With the help of Max the teddy, we learned simple first aid techniques for cuts, scrapes and head bumps; as well as learning how to make someone comfortable by lying them on their side if they are very poorly. We learned about how you may need to phone 999 in an emergency and that you need to know your address. The children absolutely loved The ‘Mini Adventures of Freddie’ story which brought everything together perfectly. Thank-you Claire. Never underestimate 3-4 year olds! They really can save lives!
It was a pleasure meeting Kate and Jacky from Mini First Aid and being taught what to do in case of an emergency. Learning CPR and what to do when a child is choking is invaluable. Obviously, I hope I never had to use the things I learned in today’s class, but horrible things happen and knowing these techniques can really make a huge difference. The class was fun and accessible given the seriousness of the topic. I would highly recommend everyone doing it.
I cannot recommend Mini First Aid enough. Kate ran a private class for me and my 11 year old daughter in the comfort of our own home, which was perfect especially as my babies are due any day now. My daughter and I feel much more confident in knowing what to do in a range of emergency situations and I also got some extra twin tips from Kate as a fellow twin Mum! It's such an important life skill that every parent and carer should have so I would urge you to book a Mini First Aid course today.
The safety of our customers and co-owners is a priority to the continued success of Go Ape. Being a high-risk activity, we naturally want to ensure our teams our skilled to deal with any issues that may occur in our forest environments, and to continue to provide outstanding customer care. We are pleased to announce that we are working with award winners and industry leaders, Mini First Aid, who will be providing our Tribe with bespoke outdoor first aid training.
There are a gazillion things I never seem to get around to doing (fixing the broken blind in our bedroom, getting some photos printed of ‘the baby’ who is almost two but still doesn’t exist on our walls, pinning down the coffee date I’ve been promising my neglected friend via WhatsApp for at least 6 months…) BUT this morning I finally got my arse in gear and ticked off something from my ‘Really Must Do’ list by attending a First Aid class designed specifically for parents, grandparents and carers of babies and young children. It took just two hours out of my morning and covered a whole host of stuff including what to do if a child is choking, how to deal with burns/breaks/bleeding and the basics of life-saving CPR for kids.
